Dear Grade 5/6 Parents,

To complement our study of Democracy in Australia, Grade 5/6 students will be attending an excursion to Parliament House and Old Melbourne Gaol. While at Parliament House, students will be participating in a role-play program and experiencing what it’s like to be a member of parliament. They will also go on a guided tour of Old Melbourne Gaol, exploring the gaol and courtrooms.

5/6K and 5/6H will be attending this excursion on Friday 25th May, while 5/6L and 5/6M will be attending on Friday 1st June.

We will be travelling by public transport to and from the city. It is very important we leave school promptly at 8.30am. Please ensure your child arrives at school by 8.15am, wearing full school uniform. Students will need to bring a bottle of water and a packed snack and lunch. Students may carry one bag between two as it will be relatively empty on the way home. If there is slight rain, please ensure your child packs a waterproof jacket. No umbrellas please!

We will return to school at approximately 4.00pm.

The total cost of the excursion is $12.

If you have paid the Excursion Levy, no payment is required.
Please log on to Compass for online payment if required.

Please provide payment and consent for this event by Friday 18th May via compass.

Many Thanks
Shanae Hill, Kyle Hosking, Amy Lauritz and Rachael McGrath
