  • Time
  • 09:00:am - 03:00:pm

Dear Grade 3 Parents,

As part of our unit ‘My Story, Your Story, Our Story,’ Grade 3 will be participating in an education program at the Immigration Museum. The excursion is Wednesday, 15th August, 2018.

While at the museum, the children will be provided with rich learning activities to investigate migration stories. The program maximises hands-on contact with objects, artefacts, costumes, images and texts reflecting a range of migration stories in the exhibitions. Our day will also include a walk to Birrarung Marr and Federation Square.

In order to complete our set activities, the buses will leave GIPS by 9.00am. Children need to assemble in their classroom by 8.50am for the morning call. Children will need to bring their snack, drink bottle and lunch in a small backpack. We will return to school by 2.45pm.

The cost of the excursion is $23.00 which comes from the pre-paid excursion levy. If you have not paid the levy, please make this payment via Compass or through the office.

All parents must also provide consent for the excursion via Compass. Please provide payment and/or consent for this event by Wednesday, 8th August.

As with all school events, we need parental help.  If you are able to assist on any of the days please provide your details and contact email address via Insights. Your child’s class teacher will contact you should your help be required by Friday, 3rd August. Please note that a current Working with Children Check is required when volunteering to help.
